Male Sexual Dysfunction A number of conditions involving male sexual dysfunction have been seen to respond extremely favourably to TCM herbal medicines. In particular, there have been many reported cases of improvement in sperm quantity and quality, with some individuals achieving a normal sperm count following treatment and therefore restoration of fertility. Furthermore, male impotence, which may be due to a combination of physical and psychological factors, may be treated with herbs that address these issues. The medical specialty of Andrology, which studies these conditions, has become increasingly important and is now one of the major research areas of the Institute. The Institute now has a full-time specialist in this field with extensive experience in this relatively recent area, with its specialised system of diagnosis and treatment.
